Independent artist from the Lone Star state hoping to inspire other artists & hopefully find new homes for my art made from passion & w/ a whole lotta LOVE...
MessageHowdy! A little bit about me. I'm an Independent Artist from the Lone Star state that's enjoying a hidden talent I discovered only a few years ago. During a weekend trip to the Keys in Florida, I was inspired by artwork I saw as we walked around town in Key West. That summer, we visited the Keys several times, and we walked by this gallery multiple times during our visits - EVERY time, I would get mesmerized by this sparkly, beautiful, shining, glassy piece of art, but I didn't dare go inside, I don't know anything about artwork, or fancy art galleries. There's no way I could afford it even if I did go inside.
Well... on my 3rd trip to the Keys that summer, and after a couple of frozen fruity adult beverages, I decided I'm going to ask who this artist is; I had to know. About 45 minutes later, my friend that had been shopping at other places and had been looking for me came in and caught me just about to sign my name to an agreement to purchase a much larger, much more expensive, but just as beautiful as the original smaller piece in the window I was in love with. Needless to say, my friend did talk sense into me and told me that I needed to think about it overnight and decide the next day, and I agreed.
So I went back to the hotel, a little pouty but curious to know more about this artist, so I did a little research and found out that she offers online classes that teach you how to create artwork using recycled crushed glass, paints, and resin. This artist was so generous and passionate about her craft that she was willing to share her techniques with anyone interested. I was so ecstatic that I purchased the course immediately and couldn't wait for the products to arrive so I could start asap! It was all over from there. Now I have a small business, and people want to buy my art. It's taken years to create pieces worthy of posting (ha-ha), but after all that practice and taking more courses from other artists I've been interested in, I can confidently call myself an independent artist, and I am so thankful for this artist, and her sparkly piece of art that captured my eyes that summer and opened me up to a whole new world. It's incredibly humbling to know I've created a piece of art that will provide joy and positive energy to others while bringing me satisfaction, happiness, and GREAT appreciation. It's a Win/Win!
