I was inspired to create "West Coast Hunger" after watching Takaya:Lone Wolf on CBC television. Truly captivated by Takaya's adaptation to his new environment and the mystery that surrounded this motivation. Takayas willingness to settle for a solitary life but to find a connection with a human (Cheryl Alexander) truly touched our family's hearts. My sculpture represents Takaya, his environment and what thoughts may have encompassed him while he lay hungered. West Coast Hunger.
