The inspiration for this painting came from an old sepia photograph given to me by my daughter-in-law, Klaus. It is an image of her great grandmother on her wedding day in the 1920’s. Mabel was only 19 years old. I loved the atmosphere. There are a few little changes and additions, but mostly I tried to match the colors and setting of the bride. Not your ordinary wedding dress.
