Susan Detroy's affinity for the biological and botanical is channeled into primitive and brightly colored ink paintings. The “Mythic Animals” contain Susan’s humor, compassion and strength. They are child-like in process, forming with little judgment of self or of end result. Like all of Susan’s artwork the images represent a connection to a deep interior self. In the “Mythic Animals” the self is ancient with knowledge of primordial symbols, drawing in an ageless manner and always connecting with nature’s animal spirit.
