Fabric of Life Image: Letting my brushes flow with pure design, composition, and color harmonies is like spreading my wings and flying.

Trompe l'oeil ( French: "deceive the eye" ) in painting, the representation of an object with such accuracy as to deceive the viewer into believing it is real.

I used the Trompe l'oeil technique to playfully tease the viewer's eye into believing that the water drops on this painting are real and 3 dimensional. In reality, they are flat, just as flat as the rest of the painting. I fooled the viewer's eye.
This painting is one in a series of contemporary paintings that I used Trompe l'oeil with drops of water, sometimes colored drops, sometimes the drops are clear. All of the drops appear to be real and ready to keep dripping down the canvas.
