This painting has all of my painting career. At the bottom, there are lots of lines ( I started my art career as a pen and ink artist). Going up the painting, on the viewer’s left side, the sky is thin and transparent ( I was a watercolorist for 32 years before I ventured into the thick and gooey world of oils). The clouds on the top and along the the viewer’s right side, expresses the thick palette knife and textural beauty of oils painting strokes. I added oil paintings to my career in 2003. The entire painting is loose and contemporary, abstract in nature. This is also me, from pen and ink, to watercolors, to oils, as well as, realism, to contemporary and abstract. This is who I have been and what I continue to paint. All of me.
