Sunsets have a special place in my heart. This painting was started en plein air on a cold winters day on a road corner overlooking McLaren vale, The rolling hills and majestic tree caught my eye as I went around the corner and while I didn't stop to paint the view then as I wanted to check out other locations, I ended up painting it on the way back and finishing the work in the studio.
