Fish Out Of Water
Irish Beach Pebbles
“Fish Out of Water” is a minimalist yet evocative sculpture featuring two sleek black pebbles resting on a textured piece of sandstone. The juxtaposition of the smooth, dark stones against the earthy, rugged sandstone evokes the sensation of displacement—like fish removed from their natural element. The simple forms draw attention to the contrast between movement and stillness, belonging and isolation. The piece speaks to themes of adaptation, resilience, and finding balance when outside of one’s comfort zone. Its elemental composition invites a deeper reflection on our relationship with nature and our own moments of disconnection from familiar surroundings.
