Drawing space – becoming space
‘Singular Intensity’ is a gestural dialogue between my body movements and a line I am taking for a walk. Informed by spatial verbs as prompts for action (rotate, shift, pack), we explore the surface offered to us together. My fingers are moving across the surface, leaving interwoven marks as traces of that dialogue. It is an intimate, relational, and repetitive performance of intensity. Through my durational efforts, I become aware of my feelings and the physicality of the materials. The process requires my attention and a heightened sensitivity to the obstructions of my body.
