I am holding the space

‘Obstructions’ is a gestural dialogue informed by spatial verbs (rotate, expand, pack) as prompts for action. Obstructions applied may resonate with obstacles we face in our lives. I keep my elbow as a point of reflection (indicated with a small cross) and the reach of my fingers does create an organic portrait of my body.
The repetitive mark-making became a performance between my body's endurance and the paper surface where the ink marks these movements as visual traces.
