An exploration of the notion of an unbiased rather chaotic ground not subordinated to ideas of representation. The ground itself is undifferentiated and a difference in itself. Through an open mind, exploratory shapes and forms became visually equal and not representational.
Any possible meaning derived from the illusionary perception of the drawings, either as figures or ‘realistic’ objects, is a mere coincidence. Nevertheless, an open question remains on how our learned patterns and attitudes are dictating or restricting our approach toward undifferentiated possibilities. One own’s experience and skills might oppose a free expression of difference. And even might impose preconceived ideas into representational forms.

The drawing became an expanded piece of work through the music composed for this drawing by Martin Buntrock, prime screened in Weggis, Switzerland - Aug 2020 at the opening event of the exhibition 'Werden-Vergehen / Becoming - Passing' by Stefan J Schaffeld and Marion Gregor (Aug 2020-Nov2021)
Martin Buntrock released a musical version of the painting 'Black Hole' by artist Stefan J Schaffeld with the same title on the album "Blue C" (2020).
