Dan Namingha, Dusk Landscape #4, acrylic on canvas, 1990, 32 x 32 inches, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, Executive Suites at 700 Welch Road. Donated by Deedee McMurtry. "Dusk Landscape #4" is an excellent example of Namingha’s ability to create Hopi Pueblo imagery through modern abstraction and minimalist painting techniques. In the artist’s own words: "Through a process of fragmentation and assembly, I visually condense my subject matter to convey the greatest artistry with minimal elements. I see myself as a kind of bridge between worlds, trying to find that centerline of balance.”
