James Mason, Circle of Friends, steel, live plant material, 162 X 600 x 444 inches, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford, West. Donated by Peter and Helen Bing. "Circle of Friends" includes a lion, a giraffe, and an elephant with a bird perched on its back. These topiaries are cleverly constructed with shaped metal rods and live plant growth inside to create a solid appearance. Photo by Joel Simon of "Circle of Friends" installation with lights at dusk.
