Stacy was born in 1980 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her single mom moved their small family to the Pacific Northwest when Stacy was very young. Stacy grew up near Portland, Oregon. While she was always involved in creative endeavors such as Scottish Highland Dancing, choir, and acting throughout high school, her first real memory of making art was drawing a portrait of Anne Rice off the back of her "Interview with a Vampire" book during her teen years. She took an art class in her last semester of high school, but didn't truly fall in love with art until university.
Stacy went on to get a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in 2-dimensional media from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington (grad of 2003) followed by a Bachelor of Secondary Art Education from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada (grad of 2005). She enjoyed teaching high school art in a variety of mediums for nearly 10 years in Richmond, BC before the winds of fate brought her husband, Matthew, into her life and swept her off to Madison, Wisconsin.
Since moving to Madison in 2016, Stacy has been teaching watercolor painting and pottery to adults through Madison's School and Community Recreation program. She has also been exploring her own artistic practice more thoroughly in both watercolor painting and pottery.
