This quilt is made from pieced triangles of wool taken from women's career clothing of the 1980s and 90s: a jacket with tremendous shoulder pads, a tailored pink wool dress suit, a cashmere sweater, to name a few of the items. While I was working with it, I liked to imagine the women who wore these clothes. I wondered about what it meant to be a working woman then, how it has changed since, and how it might be in the future.
