Steve Babbitt was born and raised in California in the San Francisco Bay area. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts in photography at the San Francisco Art Institute. Steve was a professor of photography at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD, for more than 25 years and now teaches private photography workshops primarily in southern Utah. Regionally, his work is found in publications such as South Dakota Magazine and the America 24-7 book project; collections at the South Dakota Art Museum, University of South Dakota, University of North Dakota, and the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City, SD. His work can
be found displayed in Bulgaria and Paris, and also at the San Francisco Art Institute, Yosemite National Park, and the Getty Museum Library.
