“The American bison is a figure of endurance. Nearly driven to extinction, this iconic symbol of the West has been revitalized in public and private herds across the nation, preserved now for posterity. I am a third and fourth-generation descendant of homesteaders. The most important aspect of my work is to show the viewer the land in which we live, through my own eyes and perspective, in pencil, watercolor, and sculpture ... freehand, using my own photography to share this landscape and its many inhabitants.”
