Working with the concept of Rest As Reparations for the historical and modern day violence perpetuated against Black bodies in America, this series of large-scale mixed media center the Black body as a site of rest, leisure, pleasure, reclaimed time and privacy. The hair of the figure covers her face, while the clouds gives a clue as to what she considers her personal expression of joy. On view during the "One More River" solo exhibition at The New Gallery, Clarksville, Tennessee.
