The exhibition title, One More River, refers to the song of the same name by Sam Cooke. With this exhibition, I am fundamentally disagreeing with the idea that we have to wait to “cross the river” to rest from life”s hardships as a reward. We can imagine and create that for ourselves now.

Child-like illustrations contextualize the drawings, creating an imagined context where rest can occur; for both the works and the viewers.
