Responding to Guatemala, we gathered on local textiles and braided for three days. I was de-centred for this braid completely as I do not speak Spanish. It was a privilege to work with members of the Garifuna community who were among this Map-lective. Local maps were gathered and featured prominently in the large wall installation that collaged Guatemala's straight-line borders with similar ones drawn elsewhere on the African continent. The work took form over time in the historical centre of the city a place resonant with revolutionary political significance in Guatemala
