This bed-sized quilt, devoid of applied decorative elements, was made for family use, perhaps as a present for Dorothy's husband, Red. The overall design, a checkerboard of green- and cream-colored cloth with each panel framed in brown cloth, is similar to the design concept she chose for the Odd Couples quilt, twenty-two years later. Like the other quilts, it is all hand stitched.
