Come Watch With Me

Inspired by a plein air study at South Holston Lake while my husband was fishing. It was cold and all I was able to do was a grisaille underpainting of the calm and peaceful lake reflecting the sunrise as it broke through the clouds above the distant mountains. I had to finish in the studio and use a lot of memory to capture the feel of that moment........wishing he was there with me watching that sunrise! It was one of those moments you wish you could share and there was plenty of room on that rock.
