My art practice challenges social and linguistic constructs in the United States through precisely crafted artworks organized into collections.
MessageThis large work on paper, one of two in the series, is built from the accumulated detritus of early pandemic life. During the first months of 2020, Amazon boxes and Whole Foods delivery bags became a steady presence in my apartment, markers of solitude, mediated access, and reliance on distant systems of supply. The piece repurposes these discarded materials, collaged and painted into a fractured silhouette derived from the smaller Place works on paper. The work transforms the cardboard—once a conduit for necessity and convenience—into a textured surface that holds memory, constraint, and adaptation, mapping how "place" can shift from a lived environment to a network of transactions and deliveries.
