First exhibited at Living Arts of Tulsa in July 2023—on lands tied to the Osage, Cherokee, and Muscogee Peoples and the site of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre—Beyond the Whitewash invites reflection on racism in the U.S. Co-curated by a group of Black, Native, and white artists and art workers, the project combines sound and visual work in a powerful conversation about history, complicity, and the possibilities for change.
