Message
With this quilt I share the story of Indigenous sovereignty, community resistance, and protection of the water in the place I call home on the southern shores of Lake Superior. For years the Bad River Band has been fighting to have the Line 5 oil pipeline shut down and removed from the watershed. However now, Enbridge is building a new section of pipeline around the reservation putting even more of the watershed at risk.
