In Progress
"The Journey" is a work-in-progress as part of "Moving Mountains: The Mustard Seed Project," an interdisciplinary project to be presented at the Slate Valley Museum in Granville, NY in December 2024.
This dried mustard "tree" will be the foundation for a sculpture inspired by how faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. Serena Kovalosky is currently working on the piece throughout 2024 as an artist-in-residence at the Slate Valley Museum in Granville, New York. Hundreds of tiny mustard seeds will be meticulously applied, one-by-one to the branches of the "tree" in contemplation of an impossible goal for humantiy - peaceful coexistance, one small act (seed) at a time. The finished artwork will be exhibited at the Slate Valley Holiday Festival at the museum December 6-15, 2024.
