The National Wild Turkey Federation is a conservation organization founded in 1973. It's mission is the restoration and conservation of Wild Turkey populations in North America, and the preservation of hunters' rights.
Each year, the Federation makes commemorative prints available to members who attend their regional annual banquets. According to the Federation, this is the only way to purchase these prints.
According to online sources and the National Wild Turkey Federation, Jack Hagerman first begain creating prints for the organization in the year 2000. However, the Federation did not begin to track these prints until 2010 and therefore has no record of when this print by this artist was featured, so it is concluded that it was first created between 2000 and 2009.
Jack Hagerman was born and raised in the southwestern mountains of Virginia and southern West Virginia and grew up hunting and trapping the farms and woodlands near his home.
In 1989, he began his career as a full-time graphic artist which eventually led him to work for Disney, Warner Brothers, Sesame Street, NFL and Pokemon, to name a few. Being a self-taught artist in graphics and fine art, I won the National Wild Turkey Federation’s 2000 Grand National Art Contest after numerous best of shows and first place awards in several different media (oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pen and ink).
His latest work includes the 2005 Virginia Wild Turkey Stamp as well as annual work for the NWTF, American Deer Foundation and Quality Deer Management.
Comparable NWTF framed prints from 2000-2009 have sold in various online marketplaces for up to $400.
