Wind with Fire was part of a series of explorations of movement and color embracing the human experience with the complexity of nature.
Delacroix wrote “In many people the eye is untrue or inert: they see the objects literally; of the exquisite they see nothing.”
The work is emotional in its desire to inflame strong images that can evoke responses – responses felt by human beings concerned with relationships to nature and people.
