This painting "Nude on White Sheet" is another breakthrough painting for Griffin Thibodeaux. It recalls an earlier painting "Floating Nude" in which the figure appears to float in space with the absence of background. The effect here is similar but with the suggestion of the white sheet. In painting, the artist had to decide if rendering the sheet--with a big field of white, would add to the painting or detract. She decided on the latter, leaving the suggestion of fabric to let the viewer fill in the scene and take in the detail and interior world of the subject in comfort and rest.
