Condiments such as mayonnaise and ketchup are ubiquitous fixtures of American diners and restaurant culture. Although Antar herself does not enjoy condiments and does not keep them in her home, these sculptures emerge from her role as an observer of everyday American life. By translating such familiar objects into stone, Antar documents the visual language of contemporary culture, transforming ordinary symbols of consumption into enduring sculptural forms.
