- Hand-forged Welded Steel
"Standing 6 feet tall and 5 feet long "Stiletto" is a three-dimensional sculpture made of hand-forged and welded steel. Each piece of the sculpture was cut by hand then heated and forged to shape before being welded in place. It is painted in a realistic palette with industrial oil-based paint finished with an Anti-Graffiti and UV protectant topcoat. This imposing sculpture is meant to represent the power and strength of the modern American woman."
About the artist:
Jonathan Chandler creates hand forged exterior sculptures and functional art pieces from steel and copper. He prefers to utilize found materials whenever possible. Chandler enjoys taking materials that others see no value in and transforming them into works of art. He primarily makes sculptures that represent native plants and animals to stimulate interest in the world around us. “I try to use my sculptures to create a conversation among its audience. “What type of flower is that? What is that butterfly’s name? I have seen those at our house.” Jonathan’s sculptures are larger than life and allow visitors a chance to see details they may otherwise miss viewing the real thing. He takes pride in creating a true representation of the plant or animal. Learn more about his work and other subjects at www.youtube.com/@jonathanchandler6152
