Grief Wave Quilt #1 -#3 by Jennifer Bastian Image: 1-3: Not For Sale: This U shaped quilt stand holds three mourning quilts, made from the clothing of my deceased second mother. The act of cutting, piecing and quilting them required me to be covered in the scent of her home, and became essential to the early stages of my grieving process. The stand unites the three quilts as one piece that partially encircles the viewer into the backside of the quilts – the side less seen makes my obsessive hand-work more visible.
