In the year 2016, I moved from Ukraine to Colombia. I was looking for  a year round warmer country and to be surrounded by botanical and geological wonders.  These wishes were quickly granted and I immersed myself in the special beauty of Colombia quickly. 

Previously  I lived in the USA for a long time. I am a USA citizen living in Medellin, Colombia. Much of my time in the USA, and to a lesser degree in Ukraine  was focused on gallery paintings and murals. But subjects for these USA/Ukraine art projects, creations were done in a realism, traditional style.  

When I relocated to Colombia an inner voice kept encouraging me to switch to abstract painting. So I listened to the strong inner voice and soon switched to abstract expressionism.  This genre, Abstracts, has continued for me to this day, and I expect to stay positively focused on abstracts for many years into the future.  They have become a strong, enjoyable art passion in my life. 

 So I encourage you to view the collection and review the many abstracts with an open heart, open mind and to tune in to your feelings and emotions when observing, reflecting upon each painting.  Paintings available for purchase will be noted in the collection(s). Marvelous Miniatures.  These are my abstract paintings that can easily fit in smaller areas, having lesser wall space and yet make a pleasant impact to the surroundings.  Easy on the budget and also can be nicely grouped with other miniature paintings to form an attention getting, attractive arrangement. 

Typically the sizes are 10 inch x 10 inch or 12 inch x 12". Also a selection of rectangular miniatures are available for purchase.  A few odd sized miniatures can be found in this collection too.    This collection, Marvelous Miniatures,  can also be a good start for anyone wanting to be an art collector of artist Rick Citta. 

Mural works are a very special and enjoyable challenge and endeavor.  For many years in the USA I specialized in creating murals for home and business. That was an art phase quite gratifying, but truly all my art experiences have been and continue to be gratifying.  

The mural photos shown in my Murals collection are murals that had been created on location or were created in my studio on large canvases and after completion installed on location. 

 I am open to, however, doing murals in Colombia under the following conditions. 

1)  They need to be created in my home studio, on canvas for later installation.  2) Specifications need to be discussed and priced accordingly. 3) Installations of canvas murals need to be done on interior walls only. Pastel sticks, are used to create pastel paintings. Also known as soft pastels, are versatile art materials used for drawing and painting.  Also hard pastel sticks are often used to create lines or controlled edges. Pastels are known for their vibrant colors and ability to create both painterly and detailed effects.  In my experience working with pastels I learned that a pastel artist can create paintings that can often look like an oil painting.  Always have found that effect to be amazing. 

 I would like to briefly mention that in the USA I became, in my home state of Wisconsin, the president of the Wisconsin Pastel Society for several years. After that experience I relocated to the state of New Mexico and taught  group art lessons in pastel for 2 years.  As a pastel artist in the USA I focused on nature and landscapes for subject matter. 

 After my New Mexico experience, I moved to Ukraine where I began teaching acrylic painting classes and exhibiting my acrylic paintings.  So in this pastel art collection you will see some samples of my pastel paintings that were completed and purchased long ago. For as long as I can remember I was quite fascinated with the geology of Earth.  As a young boy I developed a strong interest in geology. Ordering rock samples, purchasing gems, crystals etc and expanding my collections. This fascination lasted for a long time and when traveling with family I would expand my collections that were part of my attraction to geological formations and strata.  This long time interest was the basis of my abstract paintings, collection titled Stratageo. 

I must say I never get bored with my painting efforts and the various collections I have formed.  Also, creative block is not an issue for me, or rarely so.

  Also, please keep in mind that I am happy to create special commissions for my clients, present and future.  If you see one of my paintings that catches your eye, your interest, but is already sold, you can commission me to do something a bit similar. Perhaps the commission can be in different colors, a different size painting, textures etc., but somewhat similar to another Stratageo painting that has been sold. But all my paintings remain as originals, but you can decide to order a print of a favorite, if you like. That is in my art business plan, to later offer collector prints.
