This painting is part of a series of 8 paintings inspired by the flowers of Filoli Gardens in California.

I saw this orange rose and just had to paint it. It was so bright, warm and glowing. The sun just seemed to love this particular flower.

The composition of this piece was a bit more complex for the dot size/canvas size ratio and one that really inspired me early on in the series. I do enjoy a good challenge sometimes.
