Eyes are often said to tell a person’s story like a window to their soul. As a teen living with Thyroid Eye Disease, my story is a bit different. TED is an autoimmune disorder rarely found in pediatrics with limited treatment options. I was diagnosed at age 11 and have had 2 surgeries on my eyes. After 5 years of living with the pain caused by this disease, surgery gave me my life back. Butterflies symbolize the thyroid gland as well as new life and this painting of my eye represents my journey. Submitted by Elizabeth Dillon
