Korea-Vietnam Peace Memorial
- Bronze & Brick

- James Keith
The Korean-Vietnam Peace Memorial Committee decided that this memorial, created by James Keith and Major John Snider and depicting an American Soldier and a your child, should be a peace memorial rather than a war memorial because American servicemen have always fought to preserve peace rather than for conquest.
The committee, chaired by Korean War veteran William Ramsey, organized the project and fund-raising for the original sculpture. The initial contribution of $1,000 toward the $15,000 cost for the sculpture was donated by Omaha American Legion Post 1, with many families of servicemen ultimately contributing to the costs, including actor John Wayne.
The Memorial, which had been deteriorating over several years, was restored in 2018 with funds from an anonymous donor, and was rededicated in August 2018.
