Similar to water altering forms with changing temperatures, “Be Water” is a transformative painting. When hung horizontally, the work appears as a seascape reminiscent of Turner skies and rolling seas. When hung vertically it becomes a waterfall goddess representing abundance, adaptability and renewal. The inspiration came from a yoga class when the teacher asked students to embody the feeling of a waterfall.
The painting’s name inspired by martial artist, Bruce Lee. “Be water, my friend.”
