#21 ArtPortfolio 2024 | THE AWAKENING 4.0
The spiritual and emotional awakening to human love is not a final image in my paintings—
it is a beginning.
it is a beginning.
An entry point into a lifelong unfolding, both individual and collective.
A gentle invitation to pause. To feel. To remember. To recognize who we truly are beneath the noise.
The artwork is not about answers, but about presence— about holding space for what has long been forgotten but never lost.
#20 ArtPortfolio 2024 | 8 KUNSTBLÄTTER | Divine Feminine
Divine Feminine began as a revisitation—a repainting of works originally created in 2006 in collaboration with a male artist. As I immersed myself in the process, the work evolved beyond its origins, gradually transforming into a new body of pieces rendered on architectural paper. What started as modification became reinvention—an act of creative reclamation.
In this reimagining, the old forms gave way to a deeper expression of the feminine as I experience it: intuitive, resilient, and powerfully generative. For me, the divine feminine is a complex force—one that holds vulnerability and fragility alongside inner strength, grace, wisdom, emotional softness, and quiet intelligence. It resists domination and instead speaks through subtlety, transformation, and presence.
This series channels that energy. Each piece becomes a reflection of creative renewal, where softness is not weakness but a form of wisdom, and beauty emerges from emotional depth. Divine Feminine is both a personal exploration and an offering—a visual language shaped by memory, identity, and the sacred intelligence of becoming.
#19 ArtPortfolio 2023 | THE AWAKENING 3.0
The Awakening began in 2021, during a time of global stillness and reflection. It represents a deepening shift in consciousness—both personal and collective—toward a more loving, empowered, and spiritually attuned way of being.
This work emerges from the recognition that awakening is not a singular moment, but an unfolding process. It begins as a subtle realization: an awareness of something long present, yet hidden beneath the surface of daily life. It is a remembrance—of soul, of presence, of inner truth.
At its core, this awakening is a return to love. Not as sentiment, but as a living force—a foundation for existence. It is the conscious reintegration of love into our thoughts, relationships, and actions. Through this lens, awakening becomes an invitation to anchor love in the everyday, to witness its luminous power, and to embody its essence.
The Awakening Series continues since 2021 and reflects this journey of re-remembering. It captures the movement from unconsciousness to awareness, from separation to unity, from fear to love. It is both a personal meditation and a collective mirror—an offering to those who, knowingly or unknowingly, are participating in this great unfolding.
#17 ArtPortfolio 2021 | THE AWAKENING 1.0
The Awakening Series is a painterly exploration—arising in the midst of a collective pause, when the world fell silent and stillness began to take up space at 2021. From that silence, a new form of consciousness began to emerge: gentle, loving, radical. A remembrance of what has always been there—yet long forgotten.
The works speak in layers. Color becomes emotion, gesture becomes inner movement. Each painting is a threshold: from the unconscious to the visible, from intellect to intuition, from separation to connection. It is not about depiction, but about encounter—with the inner self, with the other, with what we might call “soul.”
At the center stands love—not as a romantic ideal, but as a luminous force that heals, organizes, and connects. Painting becomes a vessel for this remembrance. It holds open a space in which the unspeakable can reveal itself.
The Awakening Series is not a conclusion, but a process. An invitation to be touched. A quiet radiance that continues to unfold within.
#16 ArtPortfolio Jan-Jun 2021 | DETACHMENT IS THE KEY |
detachment is the key to loosen up. An unfamiliar energy form accompanied me for nine months—an intense, dissonant force that ultimately propelled me into a higher state of consciousness. This body of work was born from a confrontation with a dark and foreign presence, a black hole of energy that felt completely disconnected from my usual space of creation. It was not mine. It was not where I naturally dwell or create.
And yet, the work demanded to be made. Some might say this series carries a message—that I served merely as the vessel through which it could be visualized. The dark renegade was not my handwriting, and still, it insisted on being seen. It asked to be acknowledged and accepted.
Through this encounter, I came to understand my inner strength—not as resistance, which I have always carried, but as endurance. I had to withstand this unfamiliar, almost intrusive energy. It invaded my creative space until I made an active, conscious decision to intervene. I began to add white—to introduce light into the black, to reclaim the canvas, to choose responsibility over surrender.
In June, with the final brushstroke complete, I felt a wave of liberation. Twenty-eight pieces had come alive during this time. But even as this cycle approached its end—in May, around Pentecost—a new portfolio took shape: The Awakening 1.0, which once again fully introduced my creative space and its energy.

A Line and a Thought—They Go for a Walk

Concept
"A Line and a Thought – They Go for a Walk" explores the essence of visual language through reduction. This digital drawing series marks a significant phase in my artistic development, where content is distilled into a singular line and form. By minimizing the abundance of content, I allow the pure essence—and even the emptiness—to speak for itself.

Medium & Process
Each piece is created spontaneously in a digital format and is printed exclusively in black-and-white or white-on-black. These works are intentionally minimal, serving as a visual counterpoint to the expressive, colorful paintings found in my other portfolios. They develop in response to the broader context of my art, offering a quieter, more contemplative counterpart.

Artistic Language
The black line has been a recurring motif in my work since the very beginning. It is both a starting point and a vessel for expression—simple yet potent. These drawings are not just studies in form, but also meditations on presence, absence, and the movement between thought and visual gesture.

#14 ArtPortfolio 2019-2021 | THE CIRCLE of LOVE
This body of work explores the circle as a timeless symbol of wholeness, unity, infinity, and the divine feminine. Spanning nine pieces, the series forms a self-contained cycle that reflects the artist’s spiritual inquiry and energetic evolution.
Across cultures and centuries, the circle has represented the absolute, the cosmic, and the sacred. In Circle of Love, it becomes a visual and metaphysical space—one that holds emptiness as potential, and from which creative abundance flows. Each piece serves as a portal to a wider field of infinite consciousness.
This series invites the viewer into a contemplative space—where the boundaries between inner and outer, material and spiritual, dissolve into a sense of energetic wholeness. The Circle, here, is not only a form but a state of being.
#13 ArtPortfolio 2018-2019 | THE SECRET
This body of work marks a symbolic turning point—a manifesto of my human strength. It embodies both my physical fragility and the mental resilience that emerged from early childhood trauma and a long-standing, dissociated vulnerability.
The series tells a deeply personal story—one that remained a hidden secret within me for more than 50 years. Subconsciously buried, it carried self-destructive elements that I have only recently begun to fully confront and transform. Through this creative process, I have worked to reclaim my dignity, rebuild my sense of self-worth, and realign with who I truly am.
At its core, this work serves not only as a path to personal healing but also as a witness—on behalf of all traumatized and stigmatized individuals. It gives voice to those silenced by shame, pain, or isolation.
"The Secret" comprises 21 artworks, created primarily on canvas and cardboard, along with several book objects. Together, these pieces form a visual narrative of survival, transformation, and testimony.
#12 ArtPortfolio 2010-2017 | QUO VADIS
QUO VADIS is an ongoing artistic series that explores the dualities inherent in human existence: light and shadow, consciousness and the unconscious, self and society. Each work is a visual meditation on the emotional and relational patterns that define our shared human experience.
The title, Quo Vadis? “Where are you going?”—serves as both a question and a conceptual anchor. It reflects on the repetitive structures we build as a civilization, and on the cyclical nature of collective and personal memory. The series considers how we continuously construct, deconstruct, and reconstruct our realities—both internally and externally.
Initiated in 2010 during a temporary stay in Vienna, Austria, QUO VADIS continues to evolve. New pieces emerge organically, often triggered by an inner impulse or in response to current emotional or societal shifts. Rather than following a strict chronology, the series unfolds as a fluid, intuitive process—reflecting a timeless and recurring exploration of human existence.
#11 ArtPortfolio 2018 | LOVE 07
I AM and I exist because LOVE exists by Petronilla Hohenwarter
Love is the essence of my being. It is within this Love—a Love that is unconditional, infinite, and not bound by time—that I find myself. Being connected to this Space of Love through my Heart gives me a profound sense of safety, protection, and inner peace. It fills me with Joy, Freedom, and Ease. This is who I am. The Love I speak of is self-sufficient and ever-present. It exists without condition and transcends limitations. Through my connection to this Source of Love, I am inspired to create. I become a vessel—an instrument—through which this pure form of Love is transformed into visible artistic expression.
My purpose is to make the invisible Space of Love transparent and tangible—to allow it to touch the hearts of others. The Power of Love flows from within me and reveals itself in the artworks I create. As a result, my Art becomes a mirror, reflecting the empowering, enlightening, and healing nature of Love. It invites others to reconnect with their own inner light.

#2 ArtPortfolio EXISTENCE of UNIVERSE 2002-2004
In search of unity, making the individual visible in an universal context - this series is rooted in the principle that opposites are interconnected and interdependent — a fundamental truth expressed in the Universal Law: relaxation emerges only through tension, action through reaction, activity through passivity. At first, I followed these impulses instinctively, unaware of the full scope of the process unfolding within and around me.
Over time, a recurring visual and symbolic form appeared: the circle. It became both a sign and a surface — a point of silence. And yet, from that same stillness, movement arose. Informal, chaotic, and wild. This transformation demanded repetition. Physical exhaustion eventually led me to surrender, and in surrender, I rediscovered silence.
The journey from the first to the last work in this series became a visual self-portrait — not only of the personal, but of the self as part of the universal. Serenity gives rise to clarity and strength; silent movement opens spaciousness within. This series includes 33 individual works and was awarded First Prize at the 2003 Abstracta Exhibition in Florence, Italy. I consider each piece alive and evolving. As such, I reserve the right to paint over or alter any work — and some no longer exist in their original form.

#1 ArtPortfolio IN TOUCH 2000-2003
In Touch is a metaphor and interface—an exploration of both the natural world and the inner world of human experience. This series is rooted in my journey as an emerging artist between Europe and Southeast Asia. It represents a non-verbal form of communication: a connection to the unconscious, to what lies beyond the seen and the spoken.
Working across a variety of mediums—including canvas, wood, cardboard, paper, assemblage, frottage, collage, and digital print—I sought to create a visual language stripped to its essentials. Through abstraction and simplicity, In Touch offers a reduced yet potent form of expression. The series comprises 58 works and was awarded the Debutant Prize 2002 by the Bavarian State Ministry for Research, Art, and Science. The award included the artist’s first solo exhibition and the production of a debut publication.
A key moment in this project was the live performance and multimedia piece IN TOUCH 2001, held at Tri Matra Gallery in Surakarta, Indonesia. Developed in collaboration with Toha M. Didiek, Ernita, and Albertus Anggoro, the performance fused body movement and audiovisual elements into a live extension of the series.
