This artwork was donated to the Washington Project for the Arts to benefit fundraising to support the organization. Joseph Hirshhorn attended the auction and purchased this work. He passed away two years later and the painting was transferred to the Hirshhorn Museum. The museum has confirmed the work with an object number.
