I was fortunate in 2005 to be chosen as an artist in residence in Csopak, Hungary. What inspired me during my residency most was the architecture. I lived in a guest house named Floras Fogado. This double door was on the side of the house, underneath the main floor. In the past, it may have been here the animals were housed at night which was the European tradition. I noticed it the first morning of my stay as I ventured out to explore the beautiful garden and photograph the intriguing weathered exterior of the house. I loved the old doors and windows and took lots of photos for future fiber art renderings. I did a small study of this doorway while in residence and the scene still captivates me urging me to explore the design aspects further. I never did open the door, so it remains a mystery.
