Award-winning, Colorado artist Matt Ounsworth was commissioned to create a sculpture from the trunk of the centuries-old Siberian Elm tree which sits in front of The Schoolhouse. In lieu of removing it entirely, Parker Arts Cultural Director, along with the Public Art Committee, saw an opportunity to transform the stump into something spectacular, “Matt’s vision provided the opportunity to bring the spirit of the tree to life. We can’t wait for the community to see how this tree will be transformed, honoring the tree’s life and legacy.”
