Quiet Landscapes
I have always been drawn to photography as a way to connect with the natural world. There is a depth to photography that other mediums do not have-- it shows you what is in that moment. I must get my scene correct at the time of my capture, therefore I must be observant and ready as my intuition guides.
I find scenes that reveal nature as calming, peaceful, and a place to come and find escape from our busy and noisy world. Many of these scenes are intimate and close, as if a companion to a personal experience woven in your mind: a grove of young aspens inviting you to sit on a rock and listen to all your recounts of wild adventures, a mystical swamp at sunrise encouraging you to believe in fairy tales. These are timeless treasures caught in a single, serene moment.
