The artwork establishes a sense of arrival by creating a destination for those entering the engineering quad. The natural limestone material, the same as used throughout the campus, is durable yet creates a soft form within the natural outdoor setting and lovely, existing mature trees. A non-programmed, flexible, and simple outdoor space is created for students to gather and interact comfortably.
The artist is interested in modifying the triangular form in the original landscape design to create a focal point at the intersection of bisecting walkways…a gathering area for students or faculty. The design places an emphasis on the use of triangular forms in the overall landscape layout of the green space.
