ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
Wood Mounted Photograph of a golden grove of aspens in the late fall which I have hand painted with and acrylic texture. This is a special piece not only because of what the trees represent and how they are all connected, but because I took it while on a hike on my first solo trip to Colorado.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Growing up in the rolling hills of Osage County in NE Oklahoma, at the end of an old dirt road call Thistle Lane I was surrounded by nature. I spend my childhood days taking care of animals, hiking, exploring creeks, bluffs, and abandoned railroad tracks. It was in these moments that I discovered my passion for nature and the beauty of the often overlooked details.
Art has been a part of my life since I was young. My grandmother, who was a painter, taught me to draw my first tree at her kitchen table. I taught myself various art forms since then, from painting and drawing to cake and cookie decorating, among other things. These days, I am focused on nature photography and mixed media art, as well as crafting jewelry and accessories from a variety of materials. I enjoy hands-on art creation and am constantly exploring new techniques to execute all the artistic visions that come to mind each day.
