Inspired by artists like Anselm Kiefer, Christian Boltanski, and Matthew Barney, Whitney B. Fair’s art raises awareness of the collective universality of emotions such as grief, trauma, anxiety, love, and loneliness. Speaking from his personal perspective, he hopes to communicate the group catharsis of our similar experiences. Whitney is a first-year graduate student at Missouri State University. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Graduate Certificate from Missouri Southern State University in 2009 and 2024. A three-dimensional artist, Whitney mainly uses casting and found objects to achieve his mixed-media sculptures. He also uses printmaking, collage, and painting in his practice.
