Artists: Erin Renee x Sarah Hebert

Project Statement: I (Sarah) had been painting the brain/mushroom piece on and off for a few months before hearing about this show, and wanted to finish it with another artist who also shared a love of color, shapes, and overall weird aesthetic as me. I reached out to Erin Renee to have her add her flair onto piece, both of us wanting to keep to the trippy/psychedelic feel I was shooting for. After receiving the painting, Erin wanted to keep the whimsical fun vibe of the painting but add some flow to the background and build off the psychedelic feel. With acrylics she added some bright oceanic plant life and with that the jellEYEfish were born. After adding her flair and details with paint pens, it seemed only fitting to have the jellEYEs dancing through a sparkly and colorful space scene.
Once she was finished, I added a few more details with my oil pens (since oil is able to be on top of acrylic), and then sprayed the piece with an acrylic gloss paint to seal it all in. Once done, I brought the piece to a local framer out of Branson (V and K) and they added the lovely yellow frame to really bring it all together.
