STATEMENT: My grandma was a patchwork quilter. The “old school” kind. She had boxes of fabric scraps and quilt pattern books. As a young boy, I fondly remember leafing through the colorful pattern books. There is just something about a homemade quilt that speaks to the best of home. This painting is a tribute to my grandmother. It features a log cabin pattern. The texture symbolizes a well-used quilt. The colors are vibrant and rich and achieve a balance of shadow and light.
