Have you ever walked outside in early September and noticed that there is something in the air that promises fall will arrive soon? Perhaps a single leaf in the driveway or an unexpected drop in temperature makes you know fall is coming — but not yet. I love looking forward to fall, my favorite season. I tried to capture that feeling in “A Hint of Fall”. The red hot border says it is still summer, but fall is coming.
The flower is the star of the show in “A Hint of Fall”. The sashing and borders in batiks, Kaffe Fasset fabrics are her supporting cast. The final African border adds a stunning finish.
This one-of-a-kind quilted wallhanging measures 44x47 inches. I pieced and quilted it on my machine.
There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt. I signed and dated it on the front.
The beautiful flower is by Stephanie Brandenburg of Frond Design Studios.
