- Lyman Whitaker
Lyman Whitaker has been a practicing sculptor for over 50 years, with a unique knowledge of materials and their application. The past 30 years have primarily been focused on creating Wind Sculptures, each of which is produced by hand.
The Wind Sculptures are kinetic art that responds to the changing currents of the wind. Lyman has created sculptures that are innovative, artistic and responsive to their surroundings. His sculptures, as represented by "Double Spinner," have an organic and mystical theme. Lyman's fondest dream is to have his artwork symbolize a move toward better solutions in our relationship with the environment. "By organically placing the Wind Sculptures in settings dependent on natural elements for movement the scupltures rise out of the ground to symbolize creative energy and kinetic elements, new opportunities.
