According to the artist, "'Ascension' directly refers to the supernatural passage into heaven by Christ on the fortieth day following Easter. Transformational movements on earth and in the skies are both seen in the mirror of the sculpture, stirring contemplation of one's own mortality and existence for eternity - the abstract truth. Three hungry vessels represent the mind, body and spirit of those who are reaching towards the Heavens in worship and expectation for the return of the King."
